Royals rout Pendleton County 49-12

After dedicating their new synthetic field turf in a pregame ceremony, the Mason County Royals routed the Pendleton County Wildcats 49-12 tonight in the home opener and the first district game of the season.

Mason County led 23-0 at the end of the first quarter and 43-0 at the half.

On the third play of the game, Terrell Henry intercepted a pass and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown that was called back on a block in the back penalty. On the next play, Henry caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Keshaun Thomas. 

The Royals scored on their first seven possessions.

Thomas rushed for two touchdowns in addition to his touchdown pass.

Henry had two touchdown receptions.

Second-string quarterback Teegin Routt threw two touchdown passes.

Mason County is 5-0 overall and 1-0 in district play. Next week is Homecoming vs. Ludlow.
