The closing of the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge for repairs has forced the postponement of the 2020 Two Bridge Run.
The Maysville Rotary Club board of directors voted on Tuesday to postpone the race to the fall, pending the bridge repairs.
The Two Bridge Run 10-miler features both the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge and the William Harsha Bridge.
Runners in the Two Bridge 5K run across the Simon Kenton Memorial Bridge twice.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet closed the bridge on November 18 after engineers discovered increased deterioration of support cables. A contract has been awarded for repairs with an estimated completion date of April 15. The bridge will be closed until further notice.
