Shelby Hesler is the new volleyball coach at Mason County High School

Shelby Hesler is the new volleyball coach at Mason County High School. Here is the press release from the Mason County Athletic Department:

Maysville--- The Mason County Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Shelby Hesler as our new volleyball coach.  Coach Hesler will replace Zach Thomas who took a teaching position at another school district.

Coach Hesler plans to meet with all girls interested in playing volleyball, today at 4 PM, at the Fieldhouse.  Open gym will take place following the meeting.

Hesler is a 2014 graduate of Mason County High School and a former volleyball player for the Royals.  She received numerous awards as a player including most blocks and kills throughout her career.  Last season, Coach Hesler was an assistant coach at Farristown Middle School in Berea, KY.  She will teach seventh grade social studies at Mason County Middle School.

Co-Athletic Director Chris Ullery had these comments:

“We are very excited to welcome back another former Royal into our Athletic Department.  Shelby is a phenomenal person and she was a tremendous student when she walked the hallways here at Mason County High School. As one of her former teachers, I couldn’t be happier to welcome her back home.  She will be a great example for our young ladies as to how they should conduct themselves on and off the court.  Coach Hesler is excited and she will work really hard to continue to build our volleyball program.”

Hesler stated: “I am excited to be the new head coach at Mason County where I can not only share my own experiences with assorted coaches, but also work with this great group of girls to keep the program going and help them have an amazing time as a volleyball player here at Mason County.”
