Hawley Field sign dedication Saturday

Mason County officials invite the public to a ceremony Saturday at 1 p.m. to dedicate a sign at the former site of Hawley Field.

Hawley Field, located on Forest Avenue in Maysville, was built by the late Harry Hawley.

Softball league games were played at Hawley Field from 1954 to 1977. The facility, which included bleachers and a concession stand, also hosted knothole baseball games.

The Mason County Road Department is now located at the Hawley Field site.

Members of the Hawley family are scheduled to attend the ceremony.
