Royals to host Bourbon County on Homecoming

The Mason County Royals host the Bourbon County Colonels on Homecoming tonight.

Both teams are 3-2 overall. Mason County is 0-1 in district play after last week's 27-21 overtime loss to the Scott Eagles. Tonight's game is the district opener for Bourbon County.

The Colonels have been hit hard by injuries. Junior quarterback Dalen Landrum has missed the last two games. 

Senior wide receiver Titus Ransom is Bourbon County's offensive leader. He has 24 receptions for 446 yards and six touchdowns. He has also rushed for one touchdown.

The Bourbon County defense is led by senior linebacker Dalton Williams who has made 88 tackles including 53 solo tackles

Kickoff is at 7:30.

Here are a few game notes:

  • Bourbon County defeated Mason County 24-13 last season. The two teams combined for 10 turnovers, including six by the Royals.
  • Bourbon County leads the series 9-4 and has won the last four meetings. 
  • The Royals' last win over the Colonels was in 2010.
