Josh Harris ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns and the Mason County Royals defeated the Harrison County Thorobreds 30-16 in the rain tonight in Cynthiana. Jordan Gilbert kicked a school-record 40 yard field and had a 33 yard touchdown reception. The Royals' defense came up with two takeaways in the second half. Harrison County had 2nd-and-goal from the one on the opening drive of the second half, but fumbled and Clay Cartmell recovered. On the Thorobreds' next series, they fumbled the snap and Corey Jones came up with his fourth fumble recovery of the season. Four plays later, the Royals scored the only touchdown of the second half. It is Mason County's first win over Harrison County. The Royals (5-0) play their district opener Friday night at Lewis County.
