The Mason County 8th grade girls basketball team took third place in the Paris Invitational Tournament over the weekend. The Lady Royals defeated Estill County in opening round, lost to eventual champion Bracken County in the semifinals and beat Paris in the third place game. The Lady Royals beat Bracken County 32-25 Monday night at The Fieldhouse. Elle Simms led Mason County is scoring with 12 points. Charnelle Brooks had 16 rebounds. Mason County plays Clark Middle School Thursday night in Winchester.
