Royals lose to Lex. Cath. 64-61 in OT

The Lexington Catholic Knights outlasted the Mason County Royals 64-61 in overtime tonight at The Fieldhouse. There were seven ties and 14 lead changes in the game. Mason County led by 11 early in the third quarter. Lexington Catholic rallied to lead by five in the fourth quarter. Russ Middleton hit a two-pointer on the buzzer to send the game to overtime. The Knights outscored the Royals 6-3 in the overtime period. Mason County shot 50% from the field in the first half, but just 19.6% the rest of the way including 0-for-10 in the extra period. Vee Sanford led Lexington Catholic with 22 points. Treg Setty had a career-high 29 points and 17 rebounds for Mason County. Russ Middleton 16 points. Keith Downing had 13 rebounds. Mason County hosts Madison Central Tuesday night.
