The Mason County Lady Royals qualified for the girls' state golf tournament with a runnerup finish in the Region 8 tournament today at Laurel Oaks Golf Club. Scott County won the region with a 323. Mason County had a 380. Christen Cropper led Mason County with an 84. Tiara Harris shot a 93. Lauren Vice had a 95. Bridget Morris shot a 108 and Peyton Houchens had a 109. The top four scores count toward the team total. Megan Wilshire of Scott County was the tournament medalist with an even par 72. The four individual qualifiers for state are
Polly Whalen of Harrison County (77), Abby Ruberg of Bishop Brossart (86), Kristen Smith of Pendleton County (87) and Haley Hart (99) of Pendleton County. The girls' state tournament will be held Oct. 6-8 at Bowling Green Country Club. Here are the team scores in the regional tournament:
