Chance to Win Sailing Trip is First Fundraiser for Artifical Surface

$100, 000 has to be raised by September 1 to move forward with the plan for artifical turf for the Mason County football and soccer field. The first fundraiser is a chance to win a sailing trip in the British Virgin Islands on Bill Shower's 40-foot catamaran, A Stray Shower. The winner of the drawing will get round trip airfare for two, a seven-day sailing adventure, captain and 1st mate, taxi and transfer fees and meals onboard the boat. The drawing will be during half time of the final regular season home football game on November 7. You do not need to be present to win. The winner will have until December 31, 2009 to take the trip. There is a $2,500.00 ‘cash option’ should the winner choose not to go. Availability of the boat and the captain will have some bearing on the planning. Tickets can be purchased for $25 each at any Mason County school office, GMM Wealth Management, Bedouin’s Merle-Norman Studio, the gift shop at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, the Maysville branch of Citizens Deposit Bank and Trust, Pizza Corner inside the Shell plaza, Town And Country Veterinarian Clinic, All About Hair and Tri County Veterinarians. Tickets will also be sold at all Mason County football tailgate events and at all home games.

Update: Technically, this fundraiser is for the Mason County football program. If the artifical surface becames a reality, the money will be used for that. If the project falls through, the money from the fundraiser will be used for the football program.
