Mason Co. Boys 4x400 Relay Sets School Record

The Mason County boys' 4x400 meter relay of team of Bradley Lang, Westin Stahl, Colt Fearis and Josh Harris set a school record with a time 3:38.10 at the state track and field meet. Mason County finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay. Daniel Reed set a school record in the triple jump.
"I could not be happier with our athletes performance at the state meet," Coach Mark Kachler said. "Sending 17 athletes was a great achievement, but more impressive is that only two of those athletes had any state track meet experience. The fact that we set two school records is just icing on the cake"
"Akeem Jackson deserves a huge compliment," Kachler said. "Akeem was a member of the 4x200 meter relay team all year and ran on the relay that advanced to the state meet from regionals. Akeem dropped the 4x200 to give the 4x100 meter relay team a fresh set of legs and a better chance to advance to finals at the state meet. His selfless attitude was all about helping the team and is what we as a program want to be all about. I would also like to thank Daniel Reed, Kasey Litzinger and Elizabeth Levay as well as [the] injured De'Sarae Chambers who make up our senior class for all they have given the program since their middle school days."
