Corey Woods led off the game with a home run and the Mason County Royals scored in each inning on their way to a 12-2 win over the St. Patrick Saints in six innings tonight in the championship game of the 39th District tournament. Richie Cox hit a two-run home run for the Royals in the fourth inning. Ryne King pitched a complete game for his first win of the season. He struck out seven batters and only allowed five hits. King also had a big night at the plate with three singles and two RBI. St. Patrick catcher Nick Anderson led off the second inning with a home run. Mason County third basemen Eric Meadows was ejected from the game in the sixth inning. Meadows pushed Jacob McKay to the ground on a tag out. I'm not sure if Meadows was ejected for the push or because of an argument which followed the play. Tempers flared for both teams. Mason County and St. Patrick both move on to the 10th Region Tournament at Harrison County.
