The KHSAA Board of Control voted today to return to "out of district" cross bracketing for the football playoffs in the 2008 season. The past two years teams played within their districts in the first two rounds of the playoffs.
For the 2008 season the bracket will be :
District 7 (No. 1 seed) vs. District 8 (No. 4 seed)
District 7 (No. 2 seed) vs. District 8 (No. 3 seed)
District 7 (No. 3 seed) vs. District 8 (No. 2 seed)
District 7 (No. 4 seed) vs. Distirct 8 (No. 1 seed)
In Class 3A, District 7 includes Mason County, East Carter, Lewis County, Russell and West Carter. District 8 includes Belfry, East Ridge, Magoffin County, Pike County Central and Sheldon Clark.
