Mason County Royals football team began spring practice Monday.
The first practice started with quarterbacks, centers, running backs and wide receivers. The staff also worked with the punters and long snappers.
A normal full practice is scheduled today.
"We weren't quite ready to get going (Monday), but we still got some good things done," Royals coach David Buchanan said in an e-mail message. "For example, some of our new receivers got a lot of balls to catch, our new centers got a lot of snaps with the QBs., and we got a lot done with our new fullbacks working the mesh with the QBs. It gave us a head start with some guys that needed to iron some things out before we get it going for good (today)."
