The Mason County Royals rallied from a six point second half deficit and from five down in overtime to beat the Russell Red Devils 57-55 tonight in the second round of the Fifth Third Bank Classic at Lexington Catholic. Mason County trailed 55-50 in overtime but scored the last seven points despite hitting just one of five free throws in the extra period. Russell had a chance to win the game missed a three-pointer at the buzzer. Tyreese Scott led the Royals in scoring with 17 points. Russell senior guard Jon Vanhoose led all scorers with 22 points including six three pointers but fouled out with 21 seconds left in overtime. Mason County plays Henry Clay in the quarterfinals Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Here are some statistics and the scoring summary:
