UC's Upset Bid Falls Short

The Cincinnati Bearcats, led by quarterback Dustin Grutza, gave the Louisville Cardinals a scare, but came up six points short today. Down 23-17 with 2:38 left in the game, UC started its final drive on its own eight yard line. Grutza rushed for 44 yards on five carries and completed four passes on that final drive. On 4th and 15 from the Louisville 21, Grutza's pass was incomplete with three seconds left.
For the game, Grutza completed 10 of 27 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
He rushed for a career-high 75 yards, three more than his previous high which he totaled last week against Akron. Grutza's 29 yard run in the fourth quarter was the longest of his career.
