James "Skeet" Smith elected to 10th Region Boys Coaches Association Hall of Fame by Veterans Committee

James "Skeet" Smith, who is third on the Maysville Bulldogs' all-time scoring list, is one of six former players elected to the 10th Region Boys Coaches Association Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee.

Smith scored 1,906 career points and was the Bulldogs' leading scorer his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

In 1972, Smith's senior season, Maysville won the 10th Region Tournament and upset Louisville Central in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament.

Other former players elected to the Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee this year include Joe Goecke and Chris Linville of Augusta, Robbie Stenzel of George Rogers Clark, William Jacobs of Paris and Kyle Campbell of Nicholas County.

The six former players elected by the Veterans Committee and the members of the Hall of Fame class of 2023 announced last month will be introduced at halftime of the championship game of the 10th Region Tournament at The Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.
