With the 2016-17 school year fast approaching, Rice signed today to play football for Campbellsville University.
Mason County coach Jonathan Thomas said a Campbellsville coach called to see if he had any unsigned players. Thomas told him about Rice and sent a video. Thomas said the Campbellsville coach liked what he saw on the video and "thought (Rice) could fit in well with what they do."
Rice applied and was accepted.
"I think he can play down there, excited to watch him play," Thomas said.
Rice will be redshirted this coming season. He played multiple positions at Mason County including linebacker and running back. He said he thinks Campbellsville will want him to play linebacker.
