Mason County 13 and Under Boys Runner-up at State

The Mason County 13 and under boys basketball team was the runner-up in the AAU State Tournament and will play in the AAU National Tournament. Mason County won its first five games before losing to the Lexington Blaze in double overtime in the championship game Sunday at the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington. Mason County, coached by Mike Hamm and Brett Walton, averaged 68 points per game in the state tournament. Tyler Black was the team's leading scorer with a total of 109 points in six games. The national tournament will be played in June in Memphis, Tennessee.
