The Mason County Lady Royals cross country team finished second in the Mason County Invitational this morning.
Thirteen varsity teams with a total of 116 runners competed in the girls' meet which was won by the Lexington Catholic Lady Knights with 53 points. Mason County had 69 points and Villa Madonna was a distance third with 95 points.
Lexington Catholic freshman Caroline Beiting was the individual winner (18:57.67). Mason County junior Layla Henderson was the runner-up (19:01.85).
Two other Mason County runners had top 10 finishes. Paige Decker was 8th (20:07.56) and Elizabeth Lavinder was 10th (20:17.86).
Alyssa Bisotti finished in 14th place (20:39.11).
Villa Madonna won the boys' meet. Augusta was 6th and Mason County 14th.
There were 20 boys varsity teams with a total of 158 runners.
