Accolades keep coming for former Mason County Lady Royal Layla Henderson during her freshman season at Northern Kentucky University.
Henderson has been named the Horizon League women's Freshman of the Year for Running Events for the indoor track and field season.
Last fall, Henderson was named Horizon League Freshman of the Year in cross country.
Henderson was twice named Horizon League Freshman of the Week during the cross country season.
Two more new school indoor track records were set by Mason County athletes Sunday at the Centre College All Ages #2 meet.
The boys' 4x800 meter relay team of Peyton Ullery, Bryant Curtis, Ed Brannon and Dashawn Overly won the event in a new record time of 8:26.30. The team had set the previous record (8:45.40) on January 27.
Brannon and Overly both broke the school indoor 3000 meter record. Overly ran it in 9:33.67 and finished third. Brannon finished second with a new record time of 9:33.35.
The old record was 9:41.80.
