Royals start slow, lose to Boyd County

The Mason County Royals got off to a slow start and lost to the Boyd County Lions 71-58 at Boyd County.

After Mason County took a 2-0 lead, Boyd County scored 14 straight points.

The Lions led 25-9 at the end of the first quarter and 42-18 late in the second quarter.

Mason County closed to within 15 points at 52-37 in the third quarter, but Boyd County answered with a 10-2 run to take a 23-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Carson Brammer led the Royals in scoring with 12 points. Jake Swolsky added 10 points.

Mason County plays at Montgomery County Tuesday night.
