Fleming County beats Mason County for the ninth straight time

The Fleming County Panthers defeated the Mason County Royals for the ninth straight time, pulling out a 12-7 victory in a district game at Mason County tonight. 

After a scoreless first half that included a lightning delay, Fleming County took advantage of a muffed punt to grab a 6-0 lead on six-yard run by Austin Trent in the third quarter.

A one-yard run by quarterback Zeke Conn gave the Panthers a 12-0 lead with 9:15 remaining in the game.

Mason County answered with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Keshaun Thomas to Anthony Bozeman with 7:31 to play.

The Royals drove into Fleming County territory in the final minute, but their fourth down pass was batted down by Caleb Igo at the goal line.

Fleming County improved  to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in district play.

The loss snapped Mason County's three-game winning streak and dropped the Royals' overall record to 4-3. Mason County is 1-1 in district games.

Fleming County plays at Pendleton County next week, while Mason County will travel to Vanceburg to play the Lewis County Lions.
