When Chris Lofton and Mersin BSB. begin their Turkish Basketball League playoff series against Turk Telecom Thursday they will already trail one game to none in the best of five quarterfinals.
Under TBL rules, Turk Telecom is credited with a win in the playoff series because it swept the two regular season games against Mersin BSB. Three of the four quarterfinal series will begin with a team having a one game to none lead. That is really putting an emphasis on the regular season. Turk Telecom, the number two seed, will have homecourt advantage Thursday. Mersin BSB., the number seven seed, will host Sunday's game. Lofton ended up third in the league in points per game (20.1).
