Lady Royals top Ryle 72-62 for first win

The Mason County Lady Royals outscored the Ryle Lady Raiders 32-22 in the fourth quarter and snapped a three-game season-opening losing streak with a 73-62 victory this afternoon at The Fieldhouse.

Ryle led 24-12 in the second quarter, but the Lady Royals ended the half on a 17-3 run to lead 29-27 at intermission.

There were five ties and five lead changes in the game.

Mason County shot 52.5 percent from the field (including 42.9 percent from beyond the arc) and had four double figure scorers.

AJ Reed scored a game-high 20 points. Kara Moran followed with 15 points, Victoria Brooks tossed in 14 points and Haley White added 11 points.

The Lady Royals play the Bracken County Lady Bears in Brooksville Tuesday night.
