Blakefield T3 in Final Stage of Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament

It's been a big year for Mark Blakefield. The St. Patrick and University of Kentucky graduate won a tournament on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada in August. He got married last month and today he tied for third place in the Final Stage of the Web.com Tour Qualifying Tournament.

The third place finish secures 12 guaranteed starts on the Web.com Tour in 2018 for Blakefield.

Blakefield shot a six-under 66 today in the final round of the qualifying tournament in Chandler, Arizona.

He had a 72-hole total of 22-under 266, six shots behind the winner.

Blakefield shot a 69 in the first round, a 65 in the second round and a 66 in the third round.

He had 10 pars, seven birdies and one bogey in his final round 66 today. He fired a 31 (with five birdies) on the front nine.

The 2018 Web.com Tour season begins next month.

Fifty golfers from the Web.com Tour earn PGA Tour cards each year.
