Mark Blakefield wins National Capital Open To Support Our Troops

In his 8th start on the MacKenzie Tour - PGA TOUR Canada, Mark Blakefield got his first win today at  the National Capital Open to Support Our Troops.

Blakefield had five straight birdies and fired a 6-under 65 in the final round at Hylands Golf Club for a 72-hole total of 20-under and a two-shot win. 

Blakefield shot a 6-under 65 in the first round Thursday and trailed by one. He carded a 5-under 66 in the second round Friday to move into a three-way tie for the lead. A 3-under 68 in the third round Saturday left him one shot behind the leader heading into the final round.

Blakefield birdied holes 5 through 9 and fired a 31 on the front side today.

His previous best finish on the PGA TOUR Canada was T11 in the Staal Foundation Open.
