Mason Co. girls, Bracken Co. boys runners-up in Area 7 Championships

The Mason County girls and the Bracken County boys were the runners-up in the Area 7 Championships Saturday at the Montgomery County High School track and field facility.

The Ashland girls and the Boyd County boys won the championships.

First place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

• Rheagan Sizemore in the girls' 400 meter dash (1:03.80) and the girls' pole vault (7-06.00).
• Dalton Kindt and Kaylee Campbell in the mixed 2x50 relay unified (25.54).
• The girls' 4x400 meter relay team of Rheagan Sizemore, Hadley Faris, Jordan Frodge and Olivia O'Hearn (4:28.61).

First place finishes by Bracken County athletes include:

• Jacob Hamilton in the boys' 800 meter run (2:05.91).
• Jared Jefferson in the boys 3200 meter run (10:27.83).
• The boys' 4x400 meter relay team of Cameron Botkin, Jacob Hamilton, Daniel Simons and Nick Parker (3:48.29).
• The boys' 4x800 meter relay team of Cameron Botkin, Brandon Cox, Jacob Hamilton and Jared Jefferson (8:53.43).
