Royals' season ends with a 75-57 loss to Scott

The Mason County Royals' season came to an end tonight with a 75-57 loss to the Scott Eagles in the quarterfinals of the 10th Region Tournament at the Mason County Fieldhouse.

It was a game of runs. Scott guard Jake Ohmer, the KABC 10th Region Player of the Year, scored seven straight points to give the Eagles a 17-10 lead.

Mason County tied the game with a 7-0 run.

Scott answered with a 10-0 run to lead 27-17 early in the second quarter.

Mason County scored eight straight points to close the gap to two with 4:29 remaining in the first half.

Scott led 39-31 at halftime.

Mason County got to within three points three times in the third quarter, but the Eagles were up 55-47 at the end of the third quarter.

After Mason County guard Sam Kumler opened the fourth quarter with a corner three-pointer, Scott went on an 18-3 run to lead 73-53 with 2:58 to play.

The Eagles shot 54.9 percent from the field including 8-of-16 on three-pointers.

Jake Ohmer scored a game-high 28 points.

Vincent Dumlao came off the bench to add 17 points for the Eagles.

Chad Ohmer tossed in 12 points.

Ty Fox, Mason County's only senior, was named to the All-Tournament Team after leading the Royals in scoring with 19 points. He was 9-of-10 from the field.

Leevi Dunaway scored 15 points before fouling out with 5:22 left in the game.  

Jaylen Lofton added 11 points.
