Dunaway's 34 points lead Royals to 68-62 win over Harrison County

Leevi Dunaway scored 34 points to lead the Mason County Royals to a 68-62 road win over the Harrison County Thorobreds tonight.

Mason County jumped out to an 8-0 lead, but Harrison County rallied to tie the game at 11-11. That was the first of five ties.

The Thorobreds led 26-22 with 3:25 left in the second quarter, but the Royals scored 12 straight points including the final eight points of the first half.

Mason County led by 13 points late in the third quarter. Harrison County closed to within with at 50-47 with 5:46 left in the game. The Royals pushed the lead back out to nine at 58-49 with 2:42 to go. The Thorobreds got to within four points three times late in the fourth quarter, but the Royals held on for their 14th win of the season.

Mason County made 13-of-18 free throws in the fourth quarter.

Dunaway was of 9-of-12 from the foul line in the final quarter. He was 10-of-16 from the field for the game and had nine rebounds. 

Jaylen Lofton and Ty Fox both scored 11 points.

Mason County will close out the regular season Tuesday night at home against the Bishop Brossart Mustangs.
