Lady Royals rout Montgomery Co. 77-14

The Montgomery County Lady Indians, in rebuilding mode, were no match for the Mason County Lady Royals tonight.

Mason County led by 26 at the end of the first quarter and by 40 at halftime, then outscored the Lady Indians 26-3 in the second half for a 77-14 victory at the Lady Royals Gym.

The Lady Royals had a 13-0 run and an 11-0 run in the first quarter, and a 14-0 run in the second quarter.

Mason County scored the final five points of the first half and the first 19 of the second half.

Montgomery County didn't score in the second half until the 2:47 mark of the fourth quarter.

The Lady Royals shot 69.7 percent from the field in the first half and 55.6 percent for the game.

Mason County had 21 steals and scored 36 points off Montgomery County's 26 turnovers.

A.J. Reed had a game-high 10 points for the Lady Royals.

Mason County's starters did not play in the second half.

The Lady Royals travel to Winchester Wednesday night to play the Clark County Lady Cardinals.
