Lady Royals pull out a 51-44 win over Campbell Co.

After a cold shooting and low scoring first half by both teams, the Mason County Lady Royals ended the game on a 9-2 run to beat the Campbell County Lady Camels 51-44 this afternoon at the Fieldhouse.

Mason County led 16-13 at halftime after the Lady Camels shot 16.7 percent and the Lady Royals shot 30 percent from the field.

The Lady Royals built two 10-point leads in the third quarter, but Campbell County rallied to tie the score at 39-39 and 42-42 in the fourth quarter.

Mason County answered with six straight points on a baseline drive by Whitney O'Mara, a post move by Maddie Boone and two free throws by Jordan Frodge.

After Campbell County cut the Lady Royals lead to four with 27 seconds to play, O'Mara sealed the win by making three of four free throws.

Mason County shot 50 percent from the field in the second half.

Briana McNutt led the Lady Royals in scoring with 14 points and O'Mara added 11 points.

Boone had 11 rebounds.

Mason County plays at Scott Tuesday night.
