Royals hit free throws down the stretch to beat East Carter 78-66

The Mason County Royals made 12 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter in a 78-66 victory over the East Carter Raiders tonight at the Fieldhouse.

Mason County led 67-55 with 2:20 to play. East Carter cut the Royals' lead to four point with 49 seconds left, but Mason County scored the final eights of the game.

Leevi Dunaway led Mason County in scoring with 24 points. He also had six assists, five rebounds and three steals.

Freshman Sam Kumler scored a career-high 22 points.

Jaylen Lofton made 11 of 13 free throws and scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

East Carter senior Cameron Sparks scored a game-high 27 points.

Mason County hosts the Male Bulldogs Saturday night. Former Mason County player Willie Feldhaus is in his second season as head coach at Male.
