Lady Royals 2nd, Royals 7th in Area 7 track and field meet

Despite a majority of the leaving for the prom before the meet was half over, the Mason County girls took second place in the KTCCA Area 7 Championships Saturday at Bath County.

In the boys meet, Bracken County tied for fourth place and Mason County finished in seventh place.

First place finishes by area athletes include:
  • Mason County junior Jordan Frodge in the girls high jump (4-10.00)
  • Mason County junior Rheagan Sizemore in the girls pole vault (8-00.00)
  • Bracken County junior Jacob Hamilton in the boys 3200 meter run (10:37.47)
  • Mason County senior Brendan Garrison in the boys 300 meter hurdles (40.66)
  • Mason County senior Jay Stanley in the boys shot put (48-11.25) and the boys discus throw (155-07)
  • The Mason County girls 4x100 meter relay team of Iyanna Johns, Te'a King, Marissa Scilley and J'Iona Smith (53.77)
  • The Bracken County boys 4x400 meter relay team of John Bravard, Dalton Highfield, Jacob Hamilton and Nick Parker (3:44.47)
