Ormes, Bretz and Curtis Elected to Girls 10th Region Hall of Fame

The 10th Region Girls Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2016 includes former St. Patrick coach Jerry Ormes, former Mason County player Penny Teegarden Bretz and former Mason County youth coach and elementary intramural league organizer Steve Curtis.

Ormes had a record of 146-129 in 10 seasons as the head coach at St. Patrick. He guided the Lady Saints to 39th District Championships in 2000 and 2002. Ormes is currently an assistant coach for the Mason County Lady Royals.

Bretz, a 1981 graduate of Mason County High School, is 29th on the Lady Royals' all-time scoring list with 750 points. She led Mason County in scoring her junior and senior seasons. Bretz is the athletic director at Nicholas County High School.

Curtis was a longtime Mason County youth basketball coach and organized the Lady Royals' elementary intramural league.
