Blakefield qualifies for PGA Tour's Honda Classic

Mark Blakefield will play in the Honda Classic on the PGA Tour beginning Thursday on the Champion Course at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Gardens, Florida.

Blakefield fired a six-under-par 65 in the Monday qualifier at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club to earn one of the four spots in the Honda Classic. Blakefield had an eagle, seven birdies and three bogeys to tie for second place in the qualifier.

The Honda Classic, with a $6.1 million purse and 500 FedExCup points, will be Blakefield's second PGA Tour event. He played in the Valspar Championship in 2014 and missed the cut.
